Featherstone maintained their 100% league record with a 40-16 win over Sheffield Eagles at Bramall Lane. Half-back Kyle Briggs picked up one try and kicked six goals in compiling a personal tally of 16 points as the league leaders ran in seven tries. Last week's leaders Leigh Centurions had a bye and drop to second in the table as a result. Featherstone face a tough game next week when they play Warrington in the fourth round of the Challenge Cup. Halifax remain third in the table after a 40-20 victory over Keighley Cougars at The Shay. Tries from James Haley, Stanley Gene and Rob Worrincy had put the hosts 16-6 ahead at the break, Jonny Presley crossing for the Cougars. Further tries followed from Sean Penkywicz, Dylan Nash and Stephen Bannister while Lee Paterson also crossed and kicked six goals. Keighley, who registered second-half tries through Tom Burton (2) and Andy Shickell, remain bottom of the table. Barrow Raiders are now four games unbeaten after a 56-10 demolition of Batley Bulldogs and are fourth in the table. Jermaine McGilvary scored a hat-trick for the home side who ran in ten tries to Batley's two. Jamie Rooney kicked eight goals. The shock of the round came at the Stobart Stadium where Toulouse inflicted defeat on Widnes Vikings for only the second time this year. The French side looked to have done enough in the first hour with tries from Mathieu Griffi, Vincent Duport (two), Nathan Wynn (two) and Sebastien Payan. However an Anthony Thackeray hat-trick in the final 20 minutes threatened a comeback for the home side who eventually lost 42-36. An impressive first half performance by Whitehaven saw the Cumbrian side cling on for victory at Dewsbury Rams. Whitehaven scored most of their points in the first half and led 18-4 at the break thanks to tries from Graeme Mattinson, Andy Thornley and Carl Rudd who also kicked three goals. Bryn Powell was Dewsbury's only scorer in the first 40 minutes. The second half saw the Rams stage a brief comeback, with Lee Lingard and Adam Robinson both crossing. However a penalty goal from Carl Rudd secured Whitehaven's second league victory of the year. Co-operative Championship One Review Hunslet Hawks remain top of Co-operative Championship One after beating Swinton Lions 46-12 at the South Leeds stadium and are now five games unbeaten in all competitions. Tries from Wayne McHugh, Tommy Haughey, Neil Lowe, Danny Grimshaw and Papua New Guinea international Charlie Wabo gave the home side a 28-6 half time lead. Paul Smith was Swinton's only first half try scorer. In the second half Neil Lowe grabbed his second for the Hawks, and Richard Chapman and David March also scored. March also kicked seven goals during the game. This week the Hawks face a home cup tie against Oldham who were impressive in their 22-16 win over South Wales Scorpions at The Gnoll and are now third in the table. Blackpool Panthers are now eight games unbeaten in all competitions after their 32-12 away victory over Workington Town and sit second in the table. Damien Munro scored two tries for the Panthers who also saw Paul Ballard, Carl Fober, Mark McCully and Danny Halliwell cross the whitewash. Jonny Leather kicked four goals. The home side's try scorers were Aaron Low and Ruairi McGoff while Scott Kaighan kicked two goals. After two league defeats in a row Rochdale Hornets got back to winning ways scoring 13 tries in a 68-10 home win over London Skolars. Wayne English grabbed a hat trick whilst his team mate Chris Hough finished with 24 points after scoring two tries and kicking eight goals. Doncaster moved up to fifth in the table with a 32-28 win at Gateshead, a victory they nearly threw away after leading 32-6. A brace of tries apiece for Tommy Griffiths and Aaron Henry, together with a Ryan Steen try, gave Doncaster a 26-6 half-time lead. An early second half try by Jack Ely put the away side further in front, but Thunder staged an impressive second half comeback. York City Knights who face Engage Super League side Crusaders RL in the Carnegie Challenge Cup this week received a bye and dropped from fourth to sixth in the table.
