Chris Thorman joined York City Knights in the close season |
York City Knights assistant coach Chris Thorman could play against his brother when the Knights meet London Skolars in the Northern Rail Cup on Sunday. If both Chris and younger brother Paul are involved they will face each other at half-back for only the second time. Chris told BBC Radio York: "I have spoken to Paul but to be fair the conversation hasn't really been about this Sunday's game. "It's more been a talking point for our parents and close friends." He added: "I think it's only the second time we've played against each other. | He'll definitely be out to get one over on his older brother |
"When I played for Huddersfield we played in the Challenge Cup against Gateshead and I had the delight of playing against both my brothers then so they were both chasing after me all the 80 minutes. "It'll be no different on Sunday I'm sure. Paul will be wanting a good performance especially as it's back at York, one of his old clubs. He'll definitely be out to get one over on his older brother. "Paul being the professional that he is hasn't really spoken about it and neither have I really." Both Paul Thorman and brother Neil played for York after moving from Gateshead in 2005. Neil remained with the club for one season while Paul played at the Huntington Stadium for two years. York need to beat London Skolars to have the chance of progressing to the knock-out stages of the Northern Rail Cup, so Chris Thorman said their aims will be clear. "Just be as clinical as possible," he said. "But London need to be respected. We just want to finish our four Northern Rail Cup games on a high."
