Barrow showed positive signs for the new season with Sunday's 48-6 win over Huddersfield Giants at Craven Park. The Championship Grand Final winners ran in 10 tries, with braces for wing James Nixon and scrum-half Liam Campbell, as the Giants were routed. Paul Cook's young Giants kept the pressure on Steve McCormack's side up to the break, with the scores at 14-6. However Raiders forced a shut-out in the second period, scoring a further seven tries without reply.
