Barrow boosted their hopes of finishing top of the Championship going into the play-offs with a 38-16 win against Widnes at Craven Park on Thursday. Raiders led 8-4 after a closely contested first half, but took full control in the second period as they ran in five tries. Stand-off Jamie Rooney was at his best with the boot for Barrow, kicking seven goals and grabbing a try of his own. The win leaves them three points clear at the top of the table.
