Catalans (0) 18 Tries: Elima 3 Goals: Mounis 2, Bird
Hull (6) 6 Try: Raynor Goal: Tickle
Catalans forward Olivier Elima scored a hat-trick to boost his side's claims for a Super League play-off place. It was the visitors who opened the scoring, Gareth Raynor crossing in the corner on six minutes after some good work from Craig Hall. With both teams making lots of errors, the next score came in the second half when Elima pounced on Adam Mogg's kick. Jerome Guisset's break set up the home side's second while Elima powered over with the last play of the match. Catalans, who finished third last year, have now moved into the top eight while Hull's defeat all but condemns them to a second successive year without play-off rugby to look forward to.
Catalans Dragons coach Kevin Walters: "If the players bring the same attitude for the rest of the season they did tonight we have every chance of winning our last three games. "We are making progress and I felt against Hull we made some big steps with our attitude. "It is pleasing we are back in contention. We have done it tough at times this year. "We know being back in the eight could only be temporary and we will keep battering away, starting at Bradford next week." Hull coach Richard Agar: "Shaun Berrigan damaged his shoulder while Kirk Yeaman has damaged his groin and it looks like we could lose both for the rest of the year. "It sums up our season somewhat, but we wasted too many chances tonight and you can't win a game if you give up the ball so many times as we did."
