Robbie Paul says the ambition shown by Leigh Centurions attracted him to sign a two-year deal with the club. The 33-year-old half-back has agreed to move from Salford to the Championship outfit from the start of next season. He told BBC Radio Manchester: "The big thing for me is if you look around the Leigh stadium you can tell it's a club with a real future. "They've made no secret of their Super League aspirations. I have the skills to help a club where they want to be." The former Bradford and Huddersfield player has spent the last two years with Salford, and sees his move as an exciting new challenge. | You want to feel like all your skills have been called upon and you want to feel good about what you've delivered Leigh half-back Robbie Paul |
"With experience on my side, from a playing point of view and the way I'll be able to communicate and from an organisational point of view, it just seemed like a marriage made in heaven," he added. "They needed someone with my specific skills and I needed a club. I guess at the end of the day you want to feel like you've done a good day's work. "You want to feel like all your skills have been called upon and you want to feel good about what you've delivered, whether it be on the field or off the field."
