Gateshead Thunder survived a second-half fightback by Halifax to record an impressive 34-28 home win against the Championship leader leaders on Sunday. Steve McCormack's side led 32-0 at the break, with a hat-trick from Australian centre Dylan Nash a highlight. In addition prop Jamie Cording, scrum-half Luke Branighan and wing Ben McAlpine also added tries, but Fax came roaring back in the second period. Thunder conceded five tries, but managed to hold on for three points.
