Skipper Andrew Henderson was on the scoresheet for Thunder

Gateshead Thunder slipped to a third away defeat of the season with a 46-30 loss against Widnes Vikings in the Championship on Saturday.

Thunder led 24-12 at half-time after tries from Dylan Nash, Andy Henderson, Nick Youngquest and Luke Branighan.

However, despite Paul Franze's early score the Vikings ran in six tries in the second period to overhaul the visitors and take the points.

Thunder remain ninth in the division, three points above Doncaster.
