Hull eased past Celtic Crusaders into the fifth round of the Challenge Cup with a comfortable 32-6 home win. The Robins have had a bright start to the season and they never looked like being upset by a side they defeated 48-18 in the league 19 days ago. Centre Kris Welham opened the scoring in a fine display and was followed over by Clint Newton before the break. Daniel Fitzhenry, Liam Colbon and Jake Webster also scored as David Tangata-Toa hit back briefly for the visitors.
Hull KR coach Justin Morgan: "I thought that we were really solid. We set out to start the game well and I thought we did that in the opening 20 minutes. "Give credit to Crusaders, they hung in there but I think we took plenty of petrol out of their tank by how well we played. "The turning point was when they were attacking our line, I think 12 or 18 tackles in a row they were attacking and then we went down the other end and scored. That was a big turning point. "I'm pleased with lot of aspects but the number one in cup footy is that we're through to the next round." Celtic Crusaders coach John Dixon: "I thought the result was a fair indication of the game. "The best team on the night won. What hurt us was that we have to reshuffle our team a bit and play a couple of guys out of position. "We played against a team that has good team, good form and good strength and I thought their structures and their formations were better than ours. "We lacked a bit of size in the middle of the park and against a side with as much power as they have in the front-row that was a disadvantage for us. "I thought that Hull KR tactically played very well. At 18-6 we had a chance, but I thought the better team won today."
