Coach John Dixon's side were 'taught lessons' by Hull KR |
Celtic Crusaders coach John Dixon says his side's Challenge Cup fourth round clash at Hull KR is a chance to kick-start their season. The Crusaders have lost all six Super League games including a 48-18 defeat at Hull KR last month. And for Dixon, it is a chance to see if lessons were learnt from that loss. "If we can get through this, we might be able to make our mark in our first year in this league and it could be through the Challenge Cup," he said. "We've been to Hull KR before and we had some lessons up there and this will be a test to see if we've learnt some things. "Can we go there and be better? That's the test for us. "We've picked up a particularly hard game...but get through that round and you don't know what's on the other side. "Any result can impact us." The Crusaders have brought Ben Flower and Steve Tyrer into their squad of 19. Tyrer, on a year-long loan from St Helens, has yet to make a first team appearance for the Crusaders but has scored five tries and nine goals in just four appearances for the reserves. Caerphilly-born Flower played for the reserves last week in their defeat at leaders Warrington Wolves but has played in four of the six Super League matches so far.
