Fighting halts rugby match

The Rugby Football League has ruled that Doncaster will move into round four of the Challenge Cup after crowd violence ended their third-round tie.

Doncaster were leading 16-12 against Leeds amateur side Queens when fighting in the stand forced the referee to abandon the game after 61 minutes.

More than 20 policemen were called to the stadium to deal with the trouble.

The ruling means that Doncaster will host Championship One rivals Gateshead in round four on Sunday, 5 April.
