Gateshead Thunder have signed Australian trio Paul Franze, Kris Kahler and Nick Youngquest.

Centre Franze, who is 26 and holds an Italian passport, has joined the newly-promoted Championship side from French club Pia on a two-year contract.

He has previously played in England for London Irish, Castleford Tigers and Newcastle Knights.

Prop Kahler, 25, previously played for Gold Coast Titans while Youngquest, also 25 was with Canterbury Bulldogs.

Youngquest can play at full-back or on the wing.
