Warrington (22) 34 Tries: Hicks, Briers, Westwood, Gleeson, Grix (2) Goals: Hicks (5)
Hull KR (12) 36 Tries: Webster, Welham (2), Cockayne, Fox (2) Goals: Dobson (6)
Peter Fox and Kris Welham each scored two tries as Hull KR ran in 18 points in the last eight minutes to claim a surprise victory at Warrington. Chris Hicks and Lee Briers scored for the home side early on but a Michael Dobson penalty and tries by Jake Webster and Welham gave Hull the edge. Ben Westwood, Martin Gleeson and Simon Grix (2) went over as the Wolves got on top and looked to be heading for a win. But late tries by Ben Cockayne, Welham and Fox (2) earned Rovers victory.
Warrington coach James Lowes: "We were well in control but have to learn from this. "We turned over too much ball and eventually ran out of gas. We played a little dumb at times and we need to put that right. "Our guys have to learn we cannot score every time we get the ball." Hull KR coach Justin Morgan: "90% of the people inside the ground probably thought we couldn't win but the players had the faith. "We made too many silly mistakes in the first half and gave away too many
penalties. "We used our get-out-of-jail card and we will gain confidence from this. "I thought we had blown it when Shaun Briscoe didn't give the ball to Ben Galea near the end but then Paul Cooke showed his vision with the kick for Peter Fox to score."
