Oldham coach Steve Deakin says his squad will be ready for the National League Two play-offs - if necessary. The Roughyeds go into the last five games just five points behind leaders Gateshead. Deakin told BBC Radio Manchester: "Our desire would be to go up automatically but our objective is to go up. "If we have to go up via the play-offs then we will do that. We mustn't lose sight of the fact that, if we lose a match now, it is not a calamity." | The best news was that neither [Adam] Robinson nor [Jason] Boults have major damage to their knee and both are back in training Oldham coach Steve Deakin | He added: "Obviously, losing at this stage of the season is not the desired outcome but it is not the end of the season either. "Our biggest, most positive news this week has not been the fact that we won against Keighley but the fact we got two players back from injury. "The best news was that neither [Adam] Robinson nor [Jason] Boults have major damage to their knee and both are back in training this week. "So from being in a position at the start of last week where we had six training on Monday and only 11 on Tuesday, it means we go into this week with 21, possibly 22, fit."
