Workington need points - Rotheram

Rugby league

Workington Town coach Dave Rotheram believes a win against Rochdale on Sunday is vital to their play-off chances this season.

Town are just two points clear of Rochdale in National League Two and Rotheram is keen for his side to pull clear of the chasing pack.

"Wins are few and far between and we're just ahead of Rochdale in the table," he told BBC Radio Cumbria.

"It's a must-win game really, so we can just pull away from Rochdale."

Last weekend's defeat to Oldham left Rotheram with a depleted squad and the Town coach is unsure how many of his players will be available for the Rochdale game.

"Routledge won't play, Jamie Beaumont is doubtful, Scott Burgess and Shaun Lunt will play some part," he said.

"Dean Burgess is still 50/50, so there are three lads coming back."
