Hornets buzzing for final glory

Rugby league

Wath Brow Hornets are just 80 minutes away from silverware as they prepare to meet East Hull in Saturday's Barla Cup final at Flyde Rugby Club.

Saturday's showpiece event marks the Hornets' fourth appearance in the final of the competition.

The Cumbrian side will go into the game as underdogs despite having won the tournament in 2004 and 2005.

East Hull have already picked up the NCL Grand Final trophy this season with a win against Leigh Miners Rangers.

Ellenborough will also be making the journey to Lancashire as the Amateur Rugby League season comes to an end with the Champion of Champions final.

They take on Bank Quay Bulls, winners of the Lancashire County Cup, ahead of Wath Brow's match with East Hull.
