Whitehaven stand-off Carl Rudd has brought his knee operation forward to enable him to return to action sooner than expected.

The 24-year-old will face two weeks out as he recovers from the surgery to repair damage suffered in the 106-8 Challenge Cup defeat by Wigan.

He has been joined on the treatment table by starlet Marc Bainbridge.

The versatile 20-year-old picked up a shoulder injury in the Marras' 36-20 defeat by Batley on Sunday.
