Leeds (8) 32 Tries: Donald 2, Ablett, Burrow, Burgess Goals: Sinfield (6)
Warrington (6) 12 Tries: L Anderson, Hicks Goals: Hicks (2)
Scott Donald bagged a try in each half as injury-depleted Leeds got back to winning ways after losing to Wigan. Michael Monaghan put Louis Anderson in to open the scoring before Donald's brace either side of the break. Leeds capitalised when Jon Clarke was sin-binned for dissent and Carl Ablett went over for their third try. Monaghan set up Chris Hicks to score before Rob Burrow and Luke Burgess tries, converted by Kevin Sinfield, who kicked six out of six, sealed things.
• Leeds coach Brian McClennan:
"We're extremely proud of them. It was a really good effort. The players had to dig deep. "We were concerned. We had players out of position and we were running two hookers at the same time. "But the players hung in there for the team. It was probably one of our best wins this year." • Warrington coach Paul Cullen:
"It was a better performance than the last two weeks. It was a really decent
defensive effort but we fell away in the avalanche of penalties. The volume of
possession in favour of Leeds broke our back. "There was a spell in the third quarter when we didn't touch the ball for 10
or 12 minutes."
