Catalans Dragons extended their unbeaten run to five games with an accomplished win over Huddersfield.

Thomas Bosc gave the visitors the early lead with two penalties before Jamahl Lolesi put the Giants ahead three minutes before the half-time interval.

Ryan Hudson extended the home side's lead with a try after the break, but Catalans hit back with David Ferriol.

And two quick tries from Bosc and Jamel Fakir put the Dragons on top, despite a late Giants score from Darrell Griffin.

The victory propelled the Dragons into fifth in the Super League.

The industrious Bosc was at the heart of their best moves - and the stand-off gave them an early lead with two penalties in the first 20 minutes of the game.

But the home side soon began to dictate play and were rewarded for their endeavour when Kevin Brown and Hudson combined to find Lolesi in the 37th minute.

The Giants began the second half as they finished the first, piling the pressure on the French team's line.

And Hudson stretched their lead on 43 minutes with an acrobatic finish, using his strength to hold off three Dragons players.

However, video official Ashley Klein was not as convinced as the home fans about the score, requiring numerous replays before awarding the try on benefit of the doubt.

But the Dragons, unbeaten in their last four games, hit back immediately, courtesy of indiscipline from Thorman.

The full-back gave away a penalty on his own try-line and the resulting tap saw France prop Ferriol bundle over under the posts.

Bosc added the extras, becoming the first Catalans player to break the 300-point mark in the Super League in the process.

The score rattled the Giants as basic errors crept into their game, much to the frustration of coach Jon Sharp.

And Bosc put the Dragons in front again with a fine solo score, selling Andy Raleigh a clever dummy before charging through under the posts and adding the extras.

Things went from bad to worse for Huddersfield on 62 minutes when Thorman's languid clearance kick on the fifth tackle was charged down by Jamel Fakir, who chased down the ball to score in the corner.

Griffin's try on 76 minutes set up a frenetic final three minutes and the Dragons had Aaron Gorrell to thank for a try-saving tackle on full-back Thorman in the final seconds.

Huddersfield coach Jon Sharp:

"If we had scored (at the end) and won or drawn the match, we wouldn't have deserved it. It would have papered over the cracks.

"I thought we were poor. We lacked patience and made too many errors. Catalans put us under pressure and kicked better than us. We spent too much time defending our own line.

"We lacked a bit of quality out there. We had five quality strike players missing - and it showed."

Catalans coach Mick Potter:

"It was a good win, and I'm very happy to get the two points," said Catalans coach Mick Potter.

"I was very worried at the end, but we're just starting to learn how to hang in matches and finish strong enough to hold on.

"Earlier in the year, we probably would have dropped those two points."
