Barrow Raiders have released half-back Matt Ashe after the New Zealander failed to impress at Craven Park. Ashe, 22, scored on his debut at home to Blackpool in February but boss Dave Clark has decided to terminate his stay with the National Two side.
The former Kiwi youth international arrived at Barrow with compatriot John Warriner in pre-season.
Both have now left the club after playing just a handful of games as Clark looks for new recruits.
Barrow will join fellow Cumbrian sides Workington and Whitehaven in the draw for the Challenge Cup fourth round on Thursday, broadcast live on BBC Radio 5 Live from 1915 GMT.
