The Wildcats led 18-10 early in the second half but were hit by injuries to Brad Drew, Jason Demetriou and Tony Martin which kept them out of the game. Quins capitalised, running in four tries through Chad Randall, Rikki Sheriffe, Henry Paul and Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook. Wakefield were unable to respond with Quins finishing as comfortable winners. Harlequins coach Brian McDermott "We have to get to round eight or nine before you really see where you are. It's only the beginning of the season so we can't read too much into the league placings at the moment. "We've had a lot more control in the second half and that's what I pointed out at half-time. I thought in the first half our defence was immense but the forward play was ropey. "Overall, I'm pleased enough with today and there is something for us to take
forward." Wakefield coach John Kear "We've got 13 men out there who panicked and that has allowed Harlequins to
get back into the game and win comfortably. That was what I found most disappointing. "I'm disappointed with the second half full stop, especially when we have gone
18-10 up playing some good rugby. "I'm pleased with a few of the performances but equally there have been some
adverse ones from the players. We've not stood up and been counted. There were enough of them out there so there are no excuses."
