Kemble took over from Brian McClennan in August |
New Zealand coach Gary Kemble will lead his side to the 2008 World Cup in Australia after receiving a vote of confidence from his employers. Kemble's job was in jeopardy after the Kiwis lost 58-0 to Australia before a 3-0 series defeat to Great Britain.
"Our review of the tour was focused on the head coach's job and we have stayed with the status quo," said New Zealand Rugby League chairman Ray Haffenden.
Kemble said: "I have always wanted to continue in the role."
The former Kiwi full-back said he expected to turn things around in time for next year's World Cup.
"The Test against Australia and the following tour to Britain and France provided a difficult assignment for everyone involved," said Kemble.
"There's much work to be done and I'm confident the Kiwis will perform well in next year's Centenary Test against Australia and then in the World Cup."
