Hull beat Bradford for the first time in three meetings this season to earn a home tie in the first play-off match.

Tame Tupou notched the only try of a nervy first half, with Danny Tickle's two goals keeping Hull on level terms.

After the restart, Graeme Horne ran 60 metres to score for Hull after stripping James Evans of the ball.

David Solomona's try put Bradford back in it before Tommy Lee set up Tickle to go over for the home side, and Richard Whiting's late try wrapped up the win.

"It was a very courageous performance. I just want to say, to think we'd finish fourth, after the stuff we've had thrown at us this season, is marvellous for everyone.

"I'm very proud of everyone's efforts throughout the season.

"The character they showed typifies this team. Bradford had a weight of possession in the first half and we defended great and got better as we went along."

"There were lots and lots of positive signs and I'm disappointed we've not got the win, but I'm not disappointed with some of the things I saw out there.

"Some things need to be improved on and we needed to finish Hull off. They managed to scrap some points and fair play to them.

"I'm happy with finishing in third, we'd have liked to have finished first or second but we go into the play-offs in very good spirits and we'll be ready to go next week."
