Super League referee Steve Ganson is out for two weeks because of illness. The St Helens official was dropped for last weekend's Challenge Cup ties after his error in the Millennium Magic clash between Leeds and Bradford in Cardiff.
He was due to take charge of Wigan's game with Hull KR on Friday but has now gone down with glandular fever.
Fellow referee Ashley Klein has been demoted to the National League this weekend for his role in the incident at the Millennium Stadium.
He admitted to wrongly intervening in his role of video referee to award a late penalty which resulted in Leeds' match-winning try.
His place on this weekend's Super League list has gone to part-time referee Gary Hewer.
Ganson will be replaced by Barnsley referee Ronnie Laughton for Friday's Super League game at the JJB Stadium.
