Whitehaven head coach Dave Rotheram has hailed his players after they came back from 18-0 down to defeat Halifax 34-19 in the Northern Rail Cup semi-final. "It was a fantastic day. I'm really pleased for the board of directors, the supporters, but above all the players," Rotheram told BBC Radio Cumbria.
"They got themselves in the situation, and they had to get themselves out of it. They did just that."
"We've lost four semis in five years, so it's about time we made the final."
After finding themselves 19-6 down at half time, Haven won the match through second half tries from Carl Sice, John Duffy, Cark Rudd, Derry Eilbeck and Aaron Smith.
The final takes place on Sunday 15 July against Widnes, who defeated Castleford 18-12 in the other semi-final.
