Whitehaven coach Dave Rotheram has called on the club's fans to get behind the team for the Northern Rail Cup semi-final against Halifax on Sunday. Speaking to BBC Radio Cumbria, Rotheram said: "This is a great opportunity for this club to get to a final it has never been to before.
"It's a massive day for us. Hopefully we can triple the amount of supporters Halifax can bring.
"Let's show how proud we are of our Rugby League team this weekend."
Whitehaven, who defeated Barrow 34-14 in the quarter-final, have reached four Northern Rail Cup semi-finals in previous years, winning none of them.
The game takes place on Sunday at 1500 BST. Full match commentary on BBC Radio Cumbria.
