Harris last played for Great Britain in New Zealand in 1999 |
Iestyn Harris has hinted he might turn down the chance to play for Great Britain in the Tri-Nations Series. Harris is thought to be on coach Brian Noble's 40-man list for the tournament against Australia and New Zealand.
"I've got two, possibly three games to go and then I'll speak to Brian and see what's what," said Harris.
"I had about four to six weeks out with a bit of an injury but I still had to do pre-season in that time. I'm ready for a break."
Harris won the first of his nine Great Britain caps on the 1996 tour to New Zealand when he was a Warrington player.
His last appearance was in the 1999 Tri-Nations Series in Auckland.
The 28-year-old Welshman switched codes to rugby union three years ago and represented Wales in the Six Nations and at the 2003 Rugby World Cup.
He is now back in league after severing his links with Cardiff to join Bradford.
"It's been a long season for me. This is my 16th month without much of a break," said Harris, who will line up in the Grand Final qualifying semi-final against his old club Leeds on Saturday. "I'm trying to stay mentally focused and trying to make a big impact on the play-offs, which are the most important thing for me."
