The Challenge Cup fourth round draw could have been kinder to us but it could also have been a lot harsher.

We've avoided one of our Super League rivals but a trip to France to take on Union Treiziste Catalane is not exactly a walk in the park.

They are the favourites to become the first French club since Paris St Germain to take part in Super League.

That means they will have an added incentive to put one over us - the Super League champions - when we travel across the Channel in a fortnight's time.

Wigan will be pleased with their draw - but so will their opponents, amateur side Halton Simms Cross

To be honest, I know very little about UTC. They have a couple of Kiwis in their side, but that's about all I know.

But they will be no mugs and I am expecting a tough game.

Looking at the rest of the draw, I'm glad to see there are three all-Super League match-ups.

It gets rid of a couple of big teams straight away.

Bradford were beaten by Leeds at this very stage last season and have another tricky tie in Warrington this time around.

When the competition started, the best Simms Cross could have hoped for was a place in round four and a possible date with a Super League team.

To have drawn the holders must be a dream come true.

It is like Farnborough being drawn against Arsenal in the FA Cup.

It will be a great day for the Simms Cross players and a massive occasion for the club.

I don't think for one minute they will win but funny things can and do happen in the Challenge Cup.

A lot of teams will be rusty - and if they cannot shake off the cobwebs in time there could be an upset or two.
