Roosters name strong squad
Adrian Morley in action for the Roosters
Morley will line up for the NRL champions
National Rugby League champions the Sydney Roosters have named a powerful squad to take on St Helens in the annual World Club Challenge in February.

Coach Ricky Stuart has called on former Kangaroos captain Brad Fittler and Great Britain prop Adrian Morley, as well as a raft of Australian and New Zealand internationals.

Several newcomers are also given their chance to impress Stuart ahead of the team's opening NRL match on 14 March.

"I am really happy with the squad we are bringing over and we have given an opportunity to a couple of young guys who have really showed up well in training," said Stuart, a former Kangaroo stand-off.

"Our pre-season has been good and we've been working quite intensely in the four weeks back after Christmas. We'll certainly be giving the World Club Challenge our best shot".

The 20-man squad boasts 12 of the players who beat the New Zealand Warriors 30-8 in the NRL Grand Final in October.

Stuart said he was looking forward to returning to the country which he enjoyed visiting as a Kangaroo tourist.

"I really enjoy the rugby league scene in Britain. The supporters create a great atmosphere and it will be terrific to get back there and experience that again," he said.

Full squad: Todd Byrne, Ned Catic, Jason Cayless, Michael Crocker, Peter Cusack, Brett Finch, Brad Fittler, Craig Fitzgibbon, Chris Flannery, Shannon Hegarty, Justin Hodges, Andrew Lomu, Andrew Mercer, Anthony Minichiello, Adrian Morley, Todd Payten, Luke Ricketson, Chad Robinson, Dave Shillington, Craig Wing.
