Goulding leaves Centurions
Bobbie Goulding
Goulding is "unaffordable" say Leigh
Former Great Britain scrum-half Bobbie Goulding has parted company with Leigh Centurions.

But the Northern Ford Premiership outfit have decided to keep coach Paul Terzis for another 12 months.

Terzis, who succeeded fellow Australian Ian Millward at Hilton Park three years ago, was expected to bow out of the club as Leigh began to re-assess their finances.

His demands are not that high for Super League but they are too much for us
Tommy Cunningham on Bobbie Goulding

But Centurions chief executive Tommy Cunningham said: "Paul has today signed a new 12-month deal.

"We're very pleased with the news and we can now move forward. He is now starting to assemble a squad of players."

Goulding, who joined Leigh's promotion push two months ago after being released by Salford, was guaranteed a new contract if the Centurions reached Super League.

But Cunningham explained: "Bobbie will be released, along with one or two others, because he is unaffordable.

"His demands are not that high for Super League but they are too much for us."

Goulding captained St Helens to the inaugural Super League championship six years ago and has also played for Widnes, Wigan, Leeds, Huddersfield, Wakefield and Salford.
