Bulldogs savage Cowboys
Luke Patten of the Bulldogs evades Chris Sheppard of the Cowboys
The Bulldogs are now unbeaten in 17 matches

ANRL Leaders the Bulldogs overcame a 10-point deficit midway through the second half to beat North Queensland 34-26 and stretch their unbeaten streak to 17 games.

But Bulldogs captain Steve Price refused to look too far ahead.

"Obviously we have to lift every week and we've been able to do that so we have just got to keep doing it," he said.

"The good thing is Folksie (coach Steve Folkes) has always got us straight back on the ground after each win and we've focused on the next game."

Elsewhere, the New Zealand Warriors clawed their way back from a three-try deficit to beat Penrith 38-24 on Sunday.

The Panthers led 14-10 at half-time but the Warriors scored two minutes into the second half to level the match.

Seven tries

The win lifts the Warriors to fourth place, behind Newcastle on points and a point behind second-place Brisbane, who trail the Bulldogs by four.

Penrith remain second-last, just ahead of South Sydney.

In Sunday's other matches, Wests Tigers thrashed South Sydney 50-4 and the Northern Eagles beat Parramatta 19-10.

Cronulla scored 16 late points to extend their winning streak to eight matches with a 34-20 win over the Sydney Roosters.

On Saturday, full-back Darren Lockyer set up five of Brisbane's seven tries in the 48-20 win over Melbourne.

Three Brisbane tries in the first 12 minutes of the second half sealed the match for the Broncos.

Meanwhile, on Friday, a week after losing by one point on a conversion after the siren had sounded, Newcastle came back to beat St. George Illawarra 24-16.
