Baldwin narrowly missed out on the GB Winter Olympic team for 2010

Norfolk's TJ Baldwin has been confirmed as Great Britain's number one junior skier and has made the 11-strong senior team as the youngest member.

The 19-year-old, from Tharston, enjoyed a successful 2009-2010 season, winning all three British junior titles.

He told BBC Radio Norfolk: "I was in the junior team for three years and now I've moved up to the senior category.

"I'm really happy to be selected, that was one of my goals and was the next step forward."

He added: "Now it's about training hard and making the Olympic team in four years."

It was a key year on the international stage for Baldwin, who finished as 12th in the super combined, 21st in super G, and 35th in downhill in the world junior rankings.

Now he is preparing for the 2011 World Championships in Germany.

"That's the next step for me, to try and qualify for that," he said.

"I'll be in the gym three times a week at least, just getting into really good shape.

"The season's so long and hard you find it quite tough to stay on top of your physical condition, so now it's about getting back into shape."

Baldwin is joined in the team by Chemmy Alcott, Noel Baxter, Dougie Crawford, Ed Drake, Jai Geyer, Jan Michael Kochalski, Andy Noble, Dave Ryding, Louise Thomas, Pam Thorburn.
