Skier Jai Geyer comes third in top Giant Slalom race

Geyer won at the English Alpine Championships in Italy in February

Torquay skier Jai Geyer put in his best performance of the season on Tuesday to finish third in the Belgian National Championships Giant Slalom event.

Geyer, 20, had a combined time of 2:10.90 over two runs, with second-placed Martin Stricker coming home in a time of 2:10.76.

The race was won by Italian 17-year-old Stefano Baruffaldi in 2:09.53.

The result gave Geyer his best ever score in a Federation of International Skiing race of 37.99.
