Jai Geyer wins English Slalom Championships

Geyer learnt to ski at Torquay's Alpine Ski Club

Torquay's Jai Geyer has been crowned the English Slalom Champion at the English Alpine Championships in Italy.

The 19-year-old was the top English competitor in the Federation of International Skiing race, which attracted entrants from across Europe.

Geyer finished sixth out of 140 skiers, with a total run time of 1:36:81 over his two races in Bormio.

Robert Bullen was the next fastest English skier, coming home in 11th position with a time of 1.38.90.

First place went to Italy's Nicolo Comombi, who recorded a time of 1:34:74.
