Mavericks continue bright start

Dirk Nowitzki scored 25 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as the Dallas Mavericks overcame an early 17-point deficit for a 101-98 overtime victory over Golden State.

Michael Finley added 17 points and seven boards to make Mavericks unbeaten at 4-0 for only the third time in team history.

After squandering the big lead, the Warriors at least forced an extra period, with Jason Richardson hitting a three-pointer in the waning seconds.

He led the way with 25 points and 10 rebounds for the visitors, who are yet to record a victory in the second week of the season.

At the Delta Center, Andrei Kirilenko scored 24 points and blocked five shots to lead Utah to a 102-91 win over Denver.

Raja Bell delivered 17 points and six rebounds off the bench for the Jazz, who started the season with four straight victories for the first time since 2000-01

"We're pretty confident right now," Bell said. "We're doing some exciting things."

Carmelo Anthony - who got in early foul trouble - posted a team-high 17 points and eight rebounds for the Nuggets.

The NBA champion Detroit Pistons took two periods of overtime to overcome LA Clippers 99-96, with Chauncey Billups scoring 20 points.
