Florida A&M won through to the NCAA March Madness tournament with a 72-57 win over Lehigh in the play-in game in Dayton, Ohio. Terrence Woods, the nation's most prolific three-point shooter, found his touch in the second half as the Rattlers booked a first-round encounter with top seeds Kentucky on Friday.
They face a tough task against the Wildcats, and their chances were not helped when two of their guards ended Tuesday's game with limps.
Woods bruised his thigh in the Mid-Eastern Atlantic tournament title game Saturday, and had trouble making shots in the first half.
His stride and his shot got better as the game progressed, and Woods finished five-of-10 from behind the arc with 21 points.
Tony Tate also hurt his leg in a pile-up and had to leave the game temporarily.
Lehigh (20-11) led for less than a minute in their first NCAA tournament appearance since 1988. The Patriot League winner fell to 0-14 in the Big Dance.
Austen Rowland, the Patriot League's player of the year, was just three-of-14 from the field for eight points. Kevin Tempest led Lehigh with 13.
