Penny Hardaway had a season-high 24 points as Phoenix edged closer to the play-offs with a 117-101 victory over Golden State.

The Suns eliminated the Warriors and Seattle, 94-86 losers at San Antonio, while moving three games ahead of ninth-place Houston with three games to go.

San Antonio's win over the SuperSonics saw Malik Rose score 20 points and Tim Duncan add 18 for the Spurs' 11th straight win.

The victory pushed San Antonio's NBA-best record to 59-20.

Kevin Garnett had 24 points, 15 rebounds and eight assists as Minneapolis beat the Los Angeles Clippers 106-90.

The Timberwolves had lost five of their last seven and are fighting Portland and the Lakers for fourth place in the Western Conference play-offs.
