New Jersey have one more home game in the series |
New Jersey tied the NBA finals at 2-2 with a tight 77-76 win over San Antonio.
Key man Jason Kidd scored four free-throws in the closing stretch to keep New Jersey just ahead of San Antonio.
The Spurs needed a three-point score on their last possession to send the game into overtime, but Emanuel Ginobili's effort fell short and Tim Duncan's two-point bucket on the buzzer was not enough.
The first quarter was a tight affair but New Jersey took over in the second and led 45-34 at the half.
But San Antonio wiped out the deficit in the third quarter and led for much of the fourth before the Nets hit back.
Kenyon Martin scored 20 points and added 13 rebounds for the Nets while Richard Jefferson had 18 points and 10 rebounds and Kidd finished with 16 points and nine assists.
San Antonio's Tim Duncan finished with a game-high 23 points and 17 rebounds.
Game five is in New Jersey on Friday.
