Jaromir Jagr equalled a team record with seven points as the Washington Capitals thrashed the Florida Panthers 12-2 in the NHL on Saturday. Jagr, who earlier in the day was named in the Eastern Conference All-Stars starting line-up, scored three goals and added four assists. It was Jagr's 10th career hat-trick but his first for Washington, who equalled their own franchise record for most goals in a game and biggest margin of victory. Peter Bondra had two goals and two assists for the Capitals, who moved to the head of the Southeast Division. Dainius Zubrus also scored a brace while Sergei Gonchar had a goal and three assists and Robert Lang added a goal and two assists. Steve Konowalchuk, Michael Nylander and Jason Doig scored the other Washington goals, while Kip Miller added four assists. Olli Jokinen and Marcus Nilson replied for Florida, who were 9-0 down after two periods. Saturday's NHL results: Philadelphia 3-2 Detroit |
