Graeme Lyons won the 50m backstroke final |
David Carry continued his good form at the Scottish National Championships by claiming gold in the 200m freestyle. Following on from Tuesday's success in the 400m event, the Aberdeen swimmer won in 1:48.50, ahead of Andy Hunter and Jak Scott. "The standard is incredible, it's getting tougher every year, but that's what we need," said a delighted Carry. "We have three guys vying for top spot which is great for us as individuals and is also good for the relay." The meeting at Tollcross, Glasgow, also doubles as Commonwealth qualifying for the Scots, while there are a number of strong guest swimmers. Earlier in the evening, Graeme Lyons powered to victory in the 50m backstroke final, while Louise Pate won gold in the 50m butterfly.
