Simmonds holds three individual and two relay short-course British records

Lincoln swimmer Lizzie Simmonds has been selected for the combined British, Italian and German squad to face a USA team in Manchester next month.

The squad of 36, known as the E-Stars, will be competing at the "Duel in the Pool" event on 18 and 19 December.

The USA team will include multiple Olympic gold medallist Michael Phelps in his first meeting in Britain.

In November Simmonds, 18, twice broke the European 200m backstroke short-course record in FINA world cup meets.
