Sweetenham has overseen an upturn in British fortunes |
British swimming chief Bill Sweetenham insists "nothing has been left to chance" in the squad's preparations for the World Championships in Montreal. The national performance director is confident his 18 swimmers are ready after a 12-day holding camp in Loughborough prior to the competition.
"We've had a very good preparation and the coaches have done an outstanding job," said Australian Sweetenham.
"We dotted every i and crossed every t. Nothing has been left to chance."
The eight-day swimming competition gets under way on Sunday, with Sweetenham crowing: "Everyone is really looking forward to the competition starting now. "The swimmers look great and have done a terrific job in getting themselves prepared. They're a very professional group of people who care passionately about their sport.
"The programme has been led by head coach Ian Turner and if we don't achieve the results we're hoping for it won't be down to the good work that' s been done at the holding camp."
