White won the Masters in 1984 |
Six-times World Championship runner-up Jimmy White has failed to qualify for the Saga Insurance Masters. The 45-year-old, who dropped out of the top 32 for the first time ever two years ago, lost 5-4 to world amateur champion Kurt Maflin.
White's ranking is also now hovering around the 70s with 82 players occupying the places on the main tour.
Maflin, who is based in Norway, now faces Barry Hawkins for a place in the Masters at Wembley next year.

White, who won the Masters in 1984, led 2-0, 3-2 and 4-3 with a 28-0 points advantage in frame eight before fellow Londoner Maflin fought back.
White, nicknamed the "Whirlwind", also failed to qualify for last season's World Championship for the second time since 1981.
His last major success came at the 2004 Daily Record Players Championship in Glasgow when he recorded a 9-7 win over Paul Hunter.
