Scotland's John Higgins will face Wales' Mark Williams in the final of the China Open in Beijing. World number two Higgins beat Ireland's Ken Doherty 6-2 while Williams beat defending champion and home favourite Ding Junhui by the same margin.
Doherty had won his last four matches against Higgins, including a 9-8 victory in February's Malta Cup final.
"It's good to stop the rot against Ken, even though he didn't fire out there today," said world number two Higgins.
