Paul Hunter's return to action after recovering from cancer ended with a 3-0 defeat to Stuart Bingham in the last 16 of the German Open in Furth. Hunter was diagnosed with testicular cancer prior to the World Championship in April but is now in remission.
Hunter won two group matches on his comeback before his defeat to Bingham.
The three-times Masters champion could now decide to play in the Grand Prix in Preston next week, where he has been drawn to face Rory McLeod.
