Swail and Allen are out of Trophy
Northern Ireland's Joe Swail
Joe Swail lost to Alan McManus in the Northern Ireland Trophy
Northern Ireland players Joe Swail and Mark Allen both lost to Scots in the quarter-finals of the Northern Ireland Trophy at the Waterfront Hall, Belfast.

Swail went down 5-1 to Alan McManus, trailing 3-0 before bagging the fourth frame. The Scot secured a break of 140 in frame five and then won the sixth.

Antrim lad Allen lost 5-1 to seven-time world champion Stephen Hendry.

Allen lost the first frame on the black ball before levelling at 1-1. Hendry won the next four frames to progress.

Hendry will play McManus in the semi-finals on Saturday with Neil Robertson facing Matthew Stevens in the other.

Robertson beat Shaun Murphy 5-4 and Stevens saw off Stephen Maguire 5-2 in the last eight.
