Ronnie O'Sullivan said he was not worried about the possibility of being fined for making a gesture during his win over Stephen Maguire. The tournament favourite raised a finger to a pocket after missing a difficult pot during his 10-6 success.
"So what? Frustration's good. It shows how passionate I am about the game," he told BBC Radio Five Live.
"I'm here to win the tournament. If they want to fine me, they can, I've got plenty of money, so I'll pay."
He added: "The authorities do what they want to do, as long as they're enjoying themselves, let them."
O'Sullivan also explained his reasons for conceding the 15th frame at 6-37 behind following a missed red.
That left Maguire with an easy chance - although the Scot still had plenty of work to win the frame.
"It was like asking a golfer to putt a one-foot putt in matchplay," said O'Sullivan.
"I'm not going to ask him to clear the table. If he wants to clear the table and says 'please don't do that', fair enough.
"But I think he was pretty relieved to get it over with. He's a top player and I didn't expect him to miss."
