Quinten Hann has admitted he should not have offered to fight Andy Hicks after losing in the first round on Sunday. "I've seen it on television and I'm not proud," Hann told BBC Radio Five Live.
"I was disappointed, he deserved to beat me and it was heat of the moment. I've not got the best temper and I was out of order, but I wouldn't hit him."
World Snooker would not comment on claims from Hann that the pair face a disciplinary hearing, but Hann will be reported for swearing after frame 11.
Hann was stung by taunts from Hicks that he would finish outside of the world's top 16, a fate which would have significant impact on the Australian's earning power.
"It got a little bit out of hand," said Hann. "There is a little bit of needle involved when you're playing, but when you beat someone you never say anything to them. It's like kicking them when they are down."
