Austria's Manfred Pranger triumphed in a controversial men's World Cup slalom race at Schladming on Tuesday. Pranger won in a time of one minute 47.13 seconds, 0.04 ahead of fellow Austrian Benjamin Raich, with Andre Myhrer of Sweden third in 1:47.37.
The start of the second leg was delayed by 30 minutes after protests were made over the first run times of Italian Giorgio Rocca and Pranger.
Both dropped down positions after their respective times were amended.
A problem with the timing system became apparent when the clock stopped early during Rainer Schoenfelder's first run.
The Austrian was the third skier down the course after Rocca and Pranger.

Rocca, who led after the first leg, had his time increased from 51.11 to 51.61 and Pranger from 51.33 to 51.92, which meant he was pushed back from second to fourth. "It was the greatest present I could give myself," said
Pranger, who notched his maiden World Cup win in Kitzbuehel on Sunday.
"Being second and then fourth, what could I say? I couldn't
change anything. It didn't really matter in the end as I still
had to attack in the second run. I just tried to remain relaxed."
But the Italian team is likely to protest over the result
after Rocca's first run time was amended.
"I don't understand what happened. I was just told there was
something wrong with the times," said Rocca, who finished 21st after a poor second run.
