| Renate Goetschl won her third World Cup race in a row after triumphing in the downhill at Cortina D'Ampezzo, the eighth time she has won there. Goetschl, with a winning time of one minute 37.27 seconds, beat Janica Kostelic into second place, with Linday Kildow in third. Goetschl's win saw her join Katja Seizinger as the third most successful skier in World Cup history, on 36 wins. But Kostelic's second place saw her take the overall lead in the standings.
